“I was pleased with the insight and guidance provided by Rita throughout the integration as well as her ability to keep our project on track.”

CEO, Specialty Aviation Company

SITUATION

A specialty aviation company had recently acquired two new businesses, a helicopter company based in the United States and a Brazilian aviation service provider. Due to a lack of internal resources, the organization and its private equity ownership sought an experienced Project Manager to ensure the integration of its recent acquisitions was as seamless as possible.

SOLUTION

The company decided to engage the help of OnDemand partner Rita, a project manager with significant experience in delivering successful client outcomes in similar high-pressure environments.

Working in close collaboration with the organizations’ functional staff, Rita developed a project plan that consisted of a comprehensive roadmap of integration activities. This integration plan saw responsibilities allocated, clear and transparent lines of communication established and allowed business activities to be closely monitored and reported on a weekly basis.

As well as managing the project and ensuring critical deadlines were met, Rita also took a ‘hands on’ approach to ensuring this project was a success. She was directly responsible for the strategic hiring of a new HR Manager based in Brazil and ran a program of work that enabled the organization to establish a new office in Rio de Janeiro.

During her posting Rita also trained and developed an internal Project Manager with the goal of transferring her skills and knowledge to this resource. Upon the successful completion of her deliverables, Rita conducted a thorough handover process that ensured the internal Project Manager was completely up to speed with the project and able to succeed in his new role.

RESULTS

Rita was instrumental in the hiring of a new HR Manager in Brazil (a decision deemed as mission critical for project success) and in securing health, dental and life insurance for the organization’s new Brazilian employees. She guided the company through the development of a new organization structure and led the sourcing and opening of a new office in Brazil. Despite shifting timelines and uncertain budgets, the plan developed and executed by Rita ensured the integration of the new aquisitions was carried out seamlessly and with minimal business interruptions.
