How did OnDemand get started?
In 2003, Jan Malasek founded OnDemand Resources as an alternative to the traditional
management consulting approach. As a former top tier consultant with AT Kearney,
and executive for blue chip companies, Jan found that traditional consulting alternatives
often did not meet the needs of specific clients due to the cost involved or a lack
of subject matter expertise on consulting teams. Many times, companies look for
a flexible resource that can be seamlessly integrated to support their staff with
particular expertise, without needing a large consulting team. Jan began OnDemand
Resources to change the way companies leverage professional resources with a focus
in strategic procurement, supply chain management, and operations. OnDemand’s business
model offers companies easy, fast, and flexible access to reliable, experienced

OnDemand Resources operates a growing global managed network known as the OnDemand
Professional Network. It includes more than 5,000 screened and pre-qualified independent
professionals called OnDemand Partners. These partners are experienced people
who choose to pursue independent consulting as their primary career. OnDemand’s
management team is extremely selective in the way they engage and select the partners
in the OnDemand Professional Network to ensure that they only work with those who
are truly committed to support and see through projects for clients. Partners must
demonstrate proven tangible results in strategic procurement, supply chain management,
and operations. They are accomplished experts with top tier consulting and/or middle
to senior level executive backgrounds.

How do you price your services?
OnDemand deploys several pricing models to support the needs and budget requirements
of each client. Typical pricing models include: a daily rate plus expenses, a discounted
rate plus expenses with a performance bonus, an hourly rate plus expenses, and a
fixed fee plus expenses. Pricing is also set based on the specific types of resources
requested (for example, seniority and/or functional expertise), along with the nature
and duration of each project. Clients benefit from OnDemand’s pricing because they
are able to leverage top quality resources at a substantial cost savings compared
to traditional resource alternatives such as consulting firms and boutique shops.

How do you ensure that your clients get the resource(s) that they need?
The unique business background and vast experience of the OnDemand Resources
senior management team is leveraged to match the best professional with each project
and interim opportunity. OnDemand’s staff personally screens and qualifies all of
its talent. They recognize that the right “cultural fit,” is just as important as
the perfect background and skill set and work closely with clients to understand
their business objectives. OnDemand provides multiple candidate matches that have
the relevant background and experience necessary for the job so that clients can
select the candidate they believe is the best fit for their team. There is no “lock
in” period, and OnDemand provides a 48-hour test period, to ensure that companies
are satisfied with their selection.

network partners before they are presented as a potential match for a project. OnDemand
also engages in a rigorous selection process - all candidates must have a proven
track record with tangible results along with tier one consulting and/or middle
to senior level executive experience. OnDemand also conducts a structured project
evaluation after each completed project to ensure that their professionals have
produced high quality work. OnDemand stands behind all of its partners, and guarantees
client satisfaction. There is no lock in period for any candidate, and OnDemand
provides a 48-hour trial period to ensure the candidate is the best fit for the
job.

How do you ensure confidentiality?
OnDemand imposes strict and specific contracts with each of its partners regarding
confidential information. OnDemand also encourages its clients to sign Confidentiality
Agreements directly with OnDemand’s partner professionals for an added level of
legal coverage. Some clients choose to do that, while others are comfortable with
the contractual terms that OnDemand already has in place with partner professionals.

What happens if I want to hire an OnDemand partner full time?
OnDemand’s main focus is to ensure that clients are highly satisfied with the
work OnDemand’s partner professionals provide. In many instances, clients express
interest in hiring an OnDemand partner professional for a full time role. OnDemand
Resources is happy to facilitate that discussion, and provides a clause in each
contract that addresses the conversion of OnDemand professionals to full time employees.
Typically, the longer the project deployment, the lower the conversion fee.
